Props & Symbolism
  • Lamp
  • cork board
  • suicide note
  • slender man research
  • girls ring
  • phone
  • photo (on phone)
  • desk

Lamp

The lamp created the creepy artifical light - symbolic that all pure and goodness has gone from his life - reflects misery and tragedy.

Cork board

The cork board held all the research and info, this shows their relevance to the event, they are held above his head to symbolise that the situation is bigger and more powerful than him.

Suicide note and research

These are put on screen blatantly to show that he needs them to figure out whats going on
we also do a zoom in panning shot so the audience can see specific words such as 'death' and 'the angel of death' etc. The suicide note gives a hint to the audience about the events that have happened prior to this part of the story - symbolic of him desperately trying to catch up.

Ring

The ring we use is feminine, to show it belonged to his dead girlfriend.
The ring symbolises eternity due to its cyclical shape, showing that he will never forget her, or stop looking for her ; this is reinforced when he picks it up and looks at it, the camera then zooms in to signify its importance .

Phone & photo

We included a mobile phone as it incorporates the time era (present day) as he uses it for the text and also to look at the photo. The photo of the boy and girl helps explain what hes doing, it also shows his longing and mourning of her, it also shows regret, guilt, anger and fuels his desire to find out the truth.

Desk

The desk we use it red - this symbolises his love for her and the danger that she was put in, and that he is putting himself in. It is also symbolic of death and the nature and danger of his research, he's going down a dangerous road.
